Since I lost most of my tools in the flooding due to Ms. Hurricane Wilma, I drew my next favorite tool. I would have drawn my beloved yellow drill. I tried saving it, left it out in the sun to dry out, dunked it in fresh water, knocked it on the concrete a couple of times, sprayed it w/ anti-rust stuff... but nothing. Not a whir, not an iota of life in my dear DeWalt drill. So sad. I received a Black & Decker replacement (which I appreciate with all my heart...thanks, babe) but for some reason it just isn't the same. The Black and Decker is much slicker, even has comfort grip and soft buttons on it. I guess it's just hard to let go sometimes. I still miss my Ford Tempo w/ no AC (and had to put power steering fluid in it every time you wanted to go somewhere) and my Saturn w/ the soggy seats (when it rained outside, it also rained inside the car). Anyway, I'm getting misty eyed over a drill so I will stop. Here is my tool. Eating is one of my favorite things to do so I guess this makes this tool pretty important in my life.

I really like that fork! It reminds me of may favorite spoon. Who knows where it came from...there is only one of its kind in the utensil drawer. It has a neat pattern on the handle, too. I like the pen with wash look. Looking forward to seeing more!

Wow, I just looked at all your illustrations posted on this blog for the various challenges. You are so talented!
What a great job you did on this!
You brought tears to my eyes re: the yellow drill. I wish I could afford one! Love this drawing too. Great job!
This is REALLY well done!! So is the pair of sunglasses below. :o)
An important tool indeed, and such a realistic drawing. I feel for you over the loss of your drill. My family and I get very teary eyed and sentimental over saying farewell to our old cars!!
Great drawing of you fork! (One of my favorite tools, too :-D)
I love your story as much as your tool, great rendering!
I love this one too!
A great drawing along with insightful commentary on loss.
