EDM Draw in public

My first attempt at drawing in public. This is the new marquee for Key West's Tropic Cinema. Very art deco. From one block away, looking north, you see the bright colors and curves juxtaposed against the very cubist angles of St. Paul's Episcopal church on Duval street. One day I will attempt to draw that view. I'm not quite there with perspective when it comes to buildings and angles, especially when trying to draw quickly. Regardless, it was fun and my half hour of waiting before my movie flew by.
The next drawing was my attempt at drawing the lobby of the theater. Big mistake! Lots of angles, curves, pipes, colors, depth...a lot of visual informationt to organize. Maybe next time I'll get it down more accurately.

P.S. The flower was something I saw in my yard in the morning that I tried sketching from memory hours later.

...And drawing in public gets easier and easier, also, more addicting! Good job from memory on the flower by the way.

I find drawing buildings so difficult -- they tend to show every 'oops' I make. YOu did a great job on these! I really love your morning glory sketch!

I'm with you on the free, fun new activity of sketchcrawling--a lifelong occupation discovered! And I tend to draw single objects when buildings overwhelm me. I especially love your flower!

Congrats on your public sketching. Took me a long time to get there but I am also hooked!

Great sketches!
